The Fairport Reimagine the Erie Canal Plein Air is hosted by the Fairport Public Art Committee. The committee oversees the Fairport Public Art Plan and facilitates public art within the Village of Fairport. The committee also provides programming and art support to the communities of Fairport and Perinton.

Our third annual Plein Air takes place on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Registration is now open.

What is a Plein Air?

A “Plein Air” is an “open-air” painting event. Artists will check in at our exhibition venue, Faircraft Brauhaus, and then spend the morning painting in various beautiful locations within the village of Fairport, NY. They will then bring their paintings back for display. In the afternoon, we’ll host a ticketed event where attendees can enjoy a complimentary glass of beer, wine, or soda and preview the Art, followed by a public viewing and sale of the Art, along with a “Best in Show” and “People’s Choice” award.
